Time flies, another year to see those same toddlers grow fast and graduate. A very tight and good timing schedule to go on smoothly during the session. Capturing kids always fun and interesting. Laugh is impossible to get rid of. Some are cooperative and some will show you sour face.

I particularly love to capture their faces, especially the lively moment. The arrangement, queue-up session and their sometimes-mess-up dancing session produce a lot of laughs, not only for their caring parents but as photographer, I can't resist to laugh out loud during capturing. The joy is radiating in all angles.

开怀篇 (9) - 多啦A梦的女友？

午饭后，查了邮件懒散地站起来伸伸腰子，才发觉被同事问。
“猜猜看，这是谁？” 同事努努嘴地向那玩具看去。
“我知道！”
“那你知道她的名字吗？”　我不干示弱地反问。
“。。。”　同事不好意思的摇头，然后很快的作出反攻，“多啦A梦的女友啦”
“什么？” 还以为自己的耳粪太多，听错。
“不是多啦A梦的女友吗？”　
“此话当真？”　我忍住笑地把问题问得严肃一点。
“应该是女友吧。”　
“不会吧？咱们的年代应该不会有鸿沟，理应你应该知道滕子不二雄笔下的多啦A梦。” 我吃吃地笑着问。然后，再来最后一着将军她　（好像玩象棋似的），“是否知道其芳名？”
“不知道”　同事也吃吃地笑着不认输再问：“不是多啦A梦的女友吗？”
我即刻笑到飙眼泪，然后上气不接下气的回答：“胡说！乱伦咩？是多啦A梦的妹妹啦！”
其他的同事笑到东歪西倒。
果然，一场大开怀地笑，饭后的瞌睡虫立刻消失到无影无踪，还厉害过咖啡的效应。感谢啦! :-)

Monochrome or mono-bore colour?

Kick-started a unique experience to explore colourless view. Only two colours available - Black and White (B&W), or in another word - monochrome. I heard feedback saying that B&W is mono-bored or old style. I disagree. Our eyes able to view colour but to visualize in B&W, this is again challenging yourself to have it in your brain.

Especially thanks to the following Masters: -
1) Master Soo Hoo for lending me the never-seen-before Gossen Scout 3 light meter for assisting.
2) Master Sean who guided me how to decide to set the exposure for challenging light condition.
3) Master Kevin who brought me to the location.

My first medium format roll of Shanghai GP3 100 triggered my curiosity to see thing in monochrome way. Location introduced by a master. I didn't expect to have this China made ISO100 film to shoot indoor. Insane right? I think so. And not to forget - maximum shot is 12. I was unlucky to have several failure shots but overall playing around with slow speed gave unexpected outcome. Honestly I didn't expect at all.

Challenging rangefinder capture

It's very difficult and challenging to figure out how the rangefinder works. Beside the limited exposure setting on camera, another roadblock is sense of distant range. I did fail terribly. Too difficult to use this for street shoot with confirming focus from viewfinder. Perhaps I should get an Olympus 35 SP, kidding!

Have a look on my failure shots. Tested with Fuji Superia 100 expired film.

Walk

I tried best to catch the person busy chopping meat but at the end, my distant range sense completely fail. Shot not viewing but at chest level.

Loneliness

Overall experience was completely new. I may stop a while on trying this RF (rangefinder, not radio frequency). I will be back if I'm more prepared on both distant range and exposure setting.

Virgin roll of 120 format film

Sounds not so good to put virgin term. I can't help this as this is a completely new and first time experience to shoot in medium format (MF in current acronym. Ahem, not for manual focus). Make a dare move to kickstart using Yashica B without any metering is interesting to test my own instinct on lighting condition.

Of course, don't mention about out-of-focusing by just looking at that big viewfinder. Honestly, I still cannot confirm my focusing details by the viewfinder. I still use "extra bloody big" magnifier glass to CONFIRM! Scary huh? Check the below viewfinder again.

Kodak Pro 160
An analogue expert, Kevin alerted me earlier on its colour output. Without much expectation, the colour tone is more towards warm. Thus I purposely challenge myself with "virgin" roll to shoot casual portraits.

This is digital shot, mind you!

This film may not be your cup of tea but I like that kind of faded old colour tone that gives you another kind of moody feel. Indeed portrait film and feeling is very subjective then.

My dad who showed and passed me his Yashica B, my rational part completely GONE! Great job dad!

Instinct or doing maths?
Shooting film without metering seriously polish up your alertness - another exact term - instinct. After finished this roll, I just learnt about the Sunny Rule 16 (I forgot the name again, any expert probably can correct me please.). For instance, if you are using ISO 100 film, under sunny day, set your f value to 16 and shutter speed set exactly the same as your ISO value - shutter speed is 1/100. Doing math? I'm not good on this.

Scanning Result
Using the old Genius ColorPage-HR7X slim scanner, I don't feel any limited features to give a reasonable good output. One of my main reason to play around with film, I'm rather lazy enough to do any editing. Same with the scanning effort, no colour adjustment, no highlighting, no sharpening. Scanning result is AS IT IS. Otherwise what the heck of shooting film. The only thing I do with imaging editing software - put EXIF info and resize it for upload convenient. Imagine without resizing, 20Mb with 2400dpi set. You will just sit in front of your desktop to wait for another hours just to upload. Worth? I don't think so. Resize works, period.

Indoor colour tone even more warm. 1980 photo? No! It's 2011!

Colour or Black-and-White?
This is very interesting to explore. After this roll output, my wife immediately complained why not focusing on her. Great, I'm trapping myself to receive complain :-) I may get another Kodak roll to plan or start my own B&W street portrait with full force. Who knows? Don't assume how deep is the water, just jump and you will know the answer soon :-)

Ilford Sportsman Style 4 Vario (1962)

Beside my previous writing on TLR fun, I'm exploring another mind-blowing working unit. Why mind-blowing? It is because it's still a myth for me to figure out how to find the range!

You may assume me going insane and rich enough to play around with almost antique stuff. Honestly, kinda fun again to check if your real instinct works well. A range is a horizontal distance where a projectile launched with a velocity at the angle to the horizonal of degree (from Range definition). Well, I'm not going to drag another grandmother story about mathematical Cosine and blah blah blah.

Ilford Sportsman Style 4 Vario (1962)

Check out the shutter speed! Again, you have only 4 shutter speed to choose - Bulb mode, 1/25, 1/50 and maximum 1/200.

The DACORA 45mm f/2.8 lens is focused by rotating the focusing ring (front-cell). A lot of guess work to do by checking out your principal subject distant range. I'm currently having big problem to play around with this. Viewfinder is only viewfinder. See the yellow-coated screen? Yes, you can view but there is nothing happen even you rotate the focusing ring. Challenging but fun, right? I like old camera because it's like 1960s automobile. You know there is a problem, find the problem and fix it, then get it on the road again.

Left - film type you load. Right - film counter. Either 36 or 24. Very useful indicator.

Loaded film but currently didn't shoot much. I'm still adapting and adjusting myself to find the distant range that is in feet calculation, not meter. I asked my friend - 1 meter is equivalent to 3.3 feet. You may notice Ilford brand is normally relating with Black & White (B&W) film. It does not necessarily must load with Ilford brand film. The loaded film is colour film (expired) for learning stage. Jot down the distant range I set and exposure captured. I eager to see how the outcomes. Correct exposure or out of focus. Another waiting game to test my patient. Great!

TLR Fun

TLR stands for Twin Lens Reflex. It was my accident to discover my father has this precious vintage camera. According to my father, this camera was from Hong Kong if I'm not mistaken. Yes, this is the rarest Yashica B. At the moment of blogging this, it is very challenging to find any available Yashica B in Evil-bay (Yes, you are correct, EBay :-P).

I'm not a professional photographer, nor an analogue expert. I'm just curious in film photography after some while indulging into digital world. Well, you may disappoint from my poor knowledge on sharing technical setting or its metal solid structure. Nope, never plan to share from this point of view. Why not I share with you how I possibly fail the shot and the fun of adjusting myself to adapt the Yashica B's way of capturing what I see? Should be fun.

Viewfinder

TLR viewfinder is completely different from what you experienced in SLR (Single Lens Reflex). Vertical view hardly get me to stick to horizontal line correctly. In addition, the so-called "large" viewfinder is very difficult to confirm my object's sharpness. I need to use magnifier glass like an old man. :-)

Low speed film
My virgin film roll - Kodak Pro 160S. Low speed film to test and I'm curious about the colour output. In despite of low speed, I directly tested capturing portraits rather than landscape. Someone told me the colour output may go something like faded colour. Let's have some patient on this waiting game.

Instinct
One thing fun about film photography with full manual camera without metering - is to do some guess works. Guess work a.k.a your instinctive light justification will either give you a successful shot or a completely failure shot. Yes, DSLR may do a lot of metering job while you care about your composition. With full manual camera without metering, you are busier than before.

Yashica B in nude mode

My skill is not yet equivalent to instinctive justification level. Still need to jot down every shot I made on its exposure setting. Challenging part is you only have 5 choices of shutter speeds - Bulb mode, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100 and maximum 1/300.

With 120 format film size, you may try your luck to get 12 - 14 shots in total, as it is 6x6. It does not matter or relates with your braveness to try out this medium format (MF) camera. You should try once and check your feel without checking your DSLR LCD screen. Give yourself a chance - WHY NOT? :-)

Our first destination - Jerejak island which is located within our view sight along our driving route to office. It was indeed hot sunny day like oven (arhhh... I didn't push the blame, mind your logical thinking please!). Well, the photos captured without any CPL filter. (CPL - circular polarizer. No idea? I'm busy, explain to you later)

Initially, Lay Hong and Bhawani blamed me for not giving them 1-2-3 to signal for smiling. Mitch became the one who was not ready. Haha!

Before departure, of course a group photo must be taken.

Penang Jerejak Island! The plane... the plane... the plane... (Do you remember what movie is that? :-P)

My first spyshot above shoulder without looking at viewfinder - new way of shooting silently. Handsome and natural, right? Look at the facial expression - unexpected hiking. I was attacked by mosquito.

Spicy prawns with special brewed beer. Not me. I took Mango lassi - I swear I tell you the truth.

Too hungry, I whacked a full bowl of Briyani rice. Indeed delicious!

After very hot sunny day, the best to have is to go to Penang hill to enjoy cooler environment and have a chilling beer!

Christmas is getting nearer. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. I'm not a Christian but I still celebrate Christmas, even my family members are. I think Christmas celebration gives heart-felt wish and warmth. Gifts exchanged. For kids, they are happily to jump around though they are smart enough to understand there is no real Santa around. :-)

开怀篇 (8) - 歪打正着 - Multiple shot accidentally

老王是个高头大马的老师。他有一个怪现象，一紧张就即刻口吃。

月尾，老王和几位老师被选为监考员，大礼堂里排了整整十行。老王监考其中几行。
当他正准备打捆时，看到其中后面的学生作弊。
他气急败坏地手指指，口吃地喊：
“你你你。。。你。。。你。。。你在。。。在作弊！”
急忙地吞了口水，清了嗓子，不再口吃，食指指向后排的那位学生。
“作弊的，给我站起来！”
后排的那位学生站了起来，谁知另外两行的六位学生也一起站得老直。

Senior Wang is tall guy, works as teacher. He has a bad habit. Whenever he is anxious, he speaks with stutter.

During month end, senior Wang and a few teachers are selected as invigilator. Inside the big hall, there are 10 long rows arranged. Senior Wang is responsible for several rows. When he feels sleepy and bored, he suddenly saw one of the student from back start cheating.He is furious and points his index finger to that student, speaks with stutter,

"You you you... you... you... you're... are cheating!"

Without hesitation, clear his throat, speak without stutter anymore. Index finger still points to last row of that specific student.

"Stand up! You cheating fellow!"

That last row of specific student stands up. Then the other two rows of six students also stand up straight simultaneously.

Dare not reveal my previous formal training in piano study as I no longer technically fit enough to play the old C. Steinberg buddy. I feel indeed shamed. The dark brown upright piano accompanied me for 25 years and able to recall those insane 13 hours of nonstop playing to prepare for exam.

Now, every time I sit down to touch on the black and white keyboard, I hesitate to press. The sound that keyboard hammered those 3-strings no longer meet my expectation anymore. Not sad. To get a beautiful music, it is indeed to have a self-discipline to practice, practice and practice. Distraction and other interests took away the old passion. For this moment, I choose not to allow music appreciation to fade away like that. I'm still appreciating the formal knowledge gained, the grateful heart to enjoy every musical instrument that performs, especially piano.

If you are interested in music appreciation, I suggest you enjoy Baroque composer such as Bach. Air on G string indeed move me at all time. A look-like-simple binary form able to touch your heart emotionally. Pachelbel's Canon in D is another master piece that you should not miss.

If you are a fan of Chopin, I bet you love his Nocturne! A talented young composer who died in his 30s. His Nocturne composition did calm me down when I previously faced insomnia.

Not to mention Beethoven's famous For Elise and his emotional Moonlight Sonata. Every time listens to his composition, I need a while to bring back my calmness. Hardly imagine how Beethoven fought against his deafness while composing great composition via ear to feel the vibration of piano sound.

Thanks, my old C. Steinberg buddy! You helped me opening up my heart to music world. Appreciate those great masterpieces that inspired. Without you, my younger life will not be enriched with those treble and bass clefs, major and minor chords, scales, arpeggios and so on. Thanks from bottom of my heart.

Learn to let go

A realistic life indeed realistic! Keep on telling myself not to drop tear or cry though 三姑 just passed away peacefully during her sleep. Eventually I decided to jot down some words to remember during my rare insomnia.

Deep inside, I refused to accept this occurred unexpectedly and too sudden. My emotional barrier finally collapsed completely.

It was joyful during the Genting trip together and celebrate family gathering. The most painful moment when I edited the photos of 三姑 and I couldn't say directly how much I'm going to miss her. I'm weak! Reminded wife not to cry while on the way to Alor Setar to attend 三姑 funeral ceremony. Saw 三姑 in her coffin, I was the first one broken into tears uncontrollably.

Final night of funeral ceremony, felt heavy heart to say goodbye to 三姑. During driving, I nonstop talking to brother-in-law to avoid silence dragging me into possible chance to drop tear. Reached home safely. Confirmed my kids slept soundly, I stared on the ceiling with total emptiness even room was completely dark. In order to make myself sleep - I mumbled - time to learn to let go.

One night before sleep, Ying said to me...
"I love you,"
"Good night, love you too (two),"
Ying did some calculation from her heart then said: "I love you three, I love you four!"
"???" I'm stunned and felt funny.

Ying showed me her palm and fingers to calculate.
"Papa, mama, Ying Ying and Yang Yang, so I love you four!"
"hmmm... this young girl really logical" I burst into laugh before sleep.

Negative

Negative does not mean the opposite of affirmative in Special Ops Unit. Sticks with me if you read my previous post on cross processing. The story does not end there. Negative film suppose to be the whole term, I purposely put it in vague meaning to extend possible imagination.

This round, with Eu-Jeen and Chui Kim permission. I'm allowed to post up the photos using Fujicolor Pro400H negative film to write crappy statement over here. It's 18SX range in short if you are not ready.

Please note that the photos here totally fresh output from negative film scanned. No editing at all.

Bear in mind that the mainland details still there. The colour tone already killed me (ok, I know some of you may conclude me insane - what the heck with that kind of purple-ish and orange-ish so special. Hey let me release the tension ok? please!). Checked with Eu-Jeen on digital shot - the colour unable to match at all.

My friend - Chui Kim. Thanks for her permission on show off her portrait.

The natural colour skintone already taken my breathe away. The bokeh behind her - just like popped up 3D (it means 3-dimension, dude!) feeling from background. Check out the little grainy feel again. Of course this is not cross-processing. It's C41 chemical! Oh no, not again to use bombastic term here. Period!

Finally - I can't show you my real face in tack-sharp. Being a victim of free model for Ektarcolor (not Eu-Jeen's pak-ciao-eyes to focus wrongly, right buddy?), the colour is very natural again under office light. Oppsss... don't tell my boss please.

Nice negative colour? Alright, time to jump into negative film wagon. Have confident dude, it's nothing so difficult to press the film SLR shutter. This requires your bravery little. Have fun then!

Not easy to retain friendship and connection as time flew for 2 years. This also proves that time proves your friendship level with someone whom you knew previously. I always feel grateful - I still able to find that kind of connection.

Had supper as usual - let's get fat little. The most interesting moment is talking on photography and gears, especially film. Beside that, of course adult topic continue to fuel on laugh, without this - this reduces the momentum to move on in various kind of topics :-)

I'm sure someone will start cursing me again or kiss my jaw with fist. Wait-lar, let me finish the paragraph then you action-lar!

Nikon FE. FE stands for? Film Exaggeration. What the heck with this acronym? Don't ask. My own definition! Why FE in specific? For film enthusiast who intends to try out what is meant by manual mode, FE is the model to starts with. Don't tell me you are using DSLR with manual mode. Check out the real manual mode.

Basically FE has two different mode - both Manual and Aperture-priority autofocus exposure (A-mode in Nikonian language). Built with rugged copper aluminum alloy body that enable the chassis last for years! Uses metal blade with speed range of 8-1/1000 second, ah... I'm not asking you to shoot plane, dude. Manual focusing of course with internal split windows screen to confirm your focus. This ease a lot of difficulties for easily "pak-ciao" (shoot-bird) fellow :-P

Don't think too much and too long while to decide. I'm not asking you to completely jump-ship to film insane to satisfy your client request. Treat this as artistic interest. Who knows - you may hook with the real physical darkroom to develop film. Hmm... suddenly I think of the chemical smell :-) Have fun then!

小管家 (8) - 岁数问题

驾车回家半途中，看反后镜，颖突然在吮手指。
老婆和我同时反应地问：“几岁啦？还吮手指？”
“四岁囖，不害羞嘛！” 红灯，停下车子，我不放过机会地追问。

“我四岁了！一，二，三，四...” 以为女儿妥协地回答，谁知道...
“...五，六岁了！”
“哈？什么六岁了” 我措手不及地反问。
“One, two, three, four, five and six! 我已经six了！” 颖用英语来反驳。

绿灯，正想要反攻，后面车子的喇叭声催人了，我惟有抛下一句结语：我晕！~

On the way back home, suddenly saw Ying sucking her finger from rear mirror. Me and wife reacted the same time to question. "Still sucking finger? How old are you now?"

After stopped in front of red light, I continued to push her with little stress.
"You are four-year-old now, aren't you feeling shy?"

"I'm four years old! One, two, three, four..." Thought Ying compromised to answer accordingly but who knows she continued the so-called counting.
"...five, six years old!"
"Huh? What six-year-old?" Didn't expect she has another way of counting arithmetically.

"One, two, three, four, five and six! I already six years old!" Ying suddenly changed to English language to re-count.

督学到一所高中视察，来了解该校的学生素质如何。走廊里碰到一位学生来问：“阿房宫是谁烧的？” 学生即刻紧张地说：“不是我烧的！”

听到这种答案，督学顿时觉得实在太糟糕了，便问校长：“校长，我刚刚问这个学生，阿房宫是谁烧的，他竟然回答不是他烧的，你们是怎么教的？”

校长更紧张地说：“我们向来都确实教导学生要诚实！　他如果说不是他烧的，就一定不是他烧的，这一点我敢向您保证！”

督学听了十分气愤，回到教育厅后提出报告，要求惩罚该校的校长办学不力！没想到厅长看了以后狠批：“烧了就烧了嘛，不用太在意，本厅拨款协助重建！”

E6 to C41 - Cross Processing

Don't get mad with the title first. I admit this is mumbo-jumbo clause. It's the photographic processing jargon to describe the reversal of slide film processed in C41 chemical (huh, C41 again?!). You may find the weird kinda feeling on colour tone. If you fall in love with this kind of colour tone, congratulation! You are currently with me on the same train!!!

There are 3 things that make me mad - colour tone, grainy feeling (which DSLR intended noise spot unable to match at all) and the 3D look!

Expired Kodak Ektachrome 100 36 exposure... but with little help from expert, managed to have 40 exposures in total. Stay cool - I won't show all to slow down your loading connection.

All the film captures using Nikon FE attached Nikkor AiS 50mm f/1.8 len.

小顽皮 (2) - 走出一小步

阳不到一岁，开始摇摇摆摆地学走路。当我看到这一幕，眼泪不知觉地流下来。不是哭包啦！或许是感动吧。现在已经放手走四五步，阳还兴奋地看过来。从走出一小步，我知道这小瓜已经开始步向属于他的未来。

Not until 12 months, Yang started to walk in shakiness. When I encounter this, tear drop uncontrollably. I'm not a crying man. Probably this touches my heart. Let him walk four or five steps without holding my hands, Yang started to feel extremely happy for his achievement through his cheerful eyes. From this small step, I realize this little guy started to walk towards his own future.

Capturing family photo never an easy job. This requires mutual understanding and synchronized thought to connect with the photographer and subjects. Luckily during the process, everything was smooth. The sweat, timing and effort were wisely spent. Indeed worthful to spend to see the outcome that may move my heart (I'm not sure whether this moves your heart or not :-p).

It was long while I hardly went to Penang Youth Park. The renovated scene in fact opened my eyes. While waiting for client to reach destination, I captured leisurely the greener environment. Hope you like this!

The not-yet-ready group photo always caught my attention. I prefer most beautiful & unofficially moment :-)

I'm not good to command people to pose. Another candid capture which you may oppose my way of capturing :-) Complain later dude!

Film desire

I'm sick. The title indicates the topic of photography - of course, not technical. I say myself sick, does not mean I'm technical freak. No F-stop nor how much EV setting raised in this post. Enough. Let me release little desire of writing addict.

Always have the need to get a real manual film camera to re-touch my excitement on composing image and those waiting moments. Of course I'm not saying that to switch back since I went digital. Rationally, this is quite costly to play with film to go for each and every shutter click you press. Film feeling consists of your real careful calculation and angle to plan creatively. There is no delete button like digital single len reflex (DSLR). You no longer shoot like machine gun to test out. Experiment no longer able to fully extend in film unless you are rich enough to spend readily.

In fact, I did own a Minolta Dynax 505i AF film SLR. What I intend to experience is to have total control on setting the exposure and everything. In older days, photographer used reaction to set the exposure based on instinct (you can call this as experience).

Film feeling provides entire different experience on viewing the end result. This is not something like you able to achieve in photoshop (PS) editing. I love particularly in positive slide capturing and processing it crossly. The colour output will give me the mood! Ummppphhhh - I called.

I'm exciting to await the slide film roll in my FE. Of course, will share out when the film gets processed. Stay tuned! :-)

Gathering with gangs

Friendship is something very unique. The connection within and the cohesiveness that is unexplainable in words. Let the time tells... it's always good to have gang to gather around, be it an hour or just a simple meal to chit chat around. Especially those already married with small kids or babies, you find yourself is having lots of limitation and consideration to pop out to meet up. Fully understand. Anyway, I personally wish to have this gathering monthly to sustain the connection with you all. Whether or not, we have a long chat or just a few minutes chat... I fully enjoy the environment. Yup - I know I'm a bit uncle-type that keeps on mumbo-jumbo. Take good care and see you around in next meet up :-)

有個小姐去找醫生:

"醫生我會一直放屁,但也還好啦,我沒有很困擾.

因為人家我的屁都不會臭,也不會響.

其實,進來以後,我已經放了最少20個了,

醫生說:

"我知道了,把這些藥拿回家吃,下禮拜再來一次"

下禮拜小姐來看醫生

"醫生你到底給我什麼?! 我的屁還是靜靜的放個不停,

但是臭到爆!!"

醫生說:

"很好!你的鼻塞已經治好了,現在要治你的重聽."

A lady visits doctor and mumbles
"Doc, I have been farting nonstop, but still ok, I don't feel any problem at all
because my "gas" won't be smelly and loud in releasing."

"Actually, after I come in to your clinic, I fart at least 20 times,
I dont' see you feel anything, thus I assume no smell and not making loud sound.

Another week, the lady come back to complain.

开怀篇 (2) - 永遠無法解釋 (Unexplainable)

一個美麗的上午，天空晴朗無比，可是一個農夫醉醺醺地坐在門口，失魂落魄地。
一個過路人好奇地上前問道：老鄉，今天天氣這麼好，你怎麼不去享受，反而在這裡喝悶酒啊。

農夫回答：哎，一些事情，你永遠無法解釋。
過路人：發生什麼不幸了？
農夫：今天我在擠牛奶，剛好擠了一捅，牛用左腳把捅踢翻
過路人：是挺倒霉的，但是還不至於啊。
農夫：哎，一些事情，你永遠無法解釋。
過路人：那接著呢？
農夫：我用繩子把她左腿綁在了柱子上接著擠，結果剛好一桶接滿，她又用右腿把桶踢翻了。

過路人哈哈大笑又問到：然後呢？
農夫：哎，一些事情，你永遠無法解釋。我把她右腿也綁到柱子上了，結果剛好接滿一桶，她又用尾巴把桶掃倒了。

過路人：是夠倒霉的。算了，不要難過了。
農夫：哎，一些事情，你永遠...無法解釋。
過路人：還有什麼？！

農夫：這回我沒繩子了，就計劃用皮帶把她尾巴綁到柱子上。我把皮帶抽出來，把她尾巴抓起來。這時，我的褲子掉了，正巧我老婆進來了!

One fine beautiful morning day, a farmer gets very drunk and sits at home entrance.
A passer-by-fellow ask curiously - "Today is a beautiful day, why drink alone instead of enjoying your day?"

"There's something, you never ever able to explain clearly," said farmer.
"What happened?"

"This early morning, I milked from cow, when the time I milked a full pail, that cow use left leg to kick
the pail upside down," farmer sadly explained.
"That was unfortunate but this, I think, not worth for you to feel sad like this," passer-by said with sympathy

"There's something, you never ever able to explain clearly," said farmer with sigh.
"Then what happened next"
"I use rope to tight up its left leg and continue to milk, coincidentally, another pail started to full,
it used right leg to kick the full pail of milk upside down," Farmer explained.

Passer-by laughed and asked, "Then?"
"sigh... There's something, you never ever able to explain clearly," the farmer tighten up its right leg,
another good timing, the pail started to have full of milk, the cow used its tail to slap the pail upside down again.

"Damn unfortunate! There's all, don't feel too sad," passer-by suggested.
Farmer sigh again, "There's something, you never... ever... explain clearly."

"What's happened again?" Passer-by raised voice with surprise.
Farmer explained slowly - "This time, I don't have any rope, thus plan to use my belt to tight up the cow's tail.
When I took out the belt, at this very moment, trouser dropped and my wife just came in!

小管家 (7) - 白雪公主

童话故事本来就浪漫，可是经过我女儿“改”篇后，有一点抗拒再让她看...

事情是这样的... ...

“爸爸，我要看白雪公主”
（我纳闷地开电视）
半途，颖手足舞蹈地边看边跳，学着七个小矮人收工时吹口哨。
不久，颖开始改篇，对着老婆说：
“颖是白雪公主”，我点头笑笑，满好想象力。
过一会，颖脱口说：
“爸爸是小矮人！”
“什么???”
气煞我也！

傻闷了一分钟，我偷笑地回想：还好，颖还会分辨性别 - 我不是老巫婆！

Fairy tales always romantic in presentation, however after my daughter "modified" the version, personally I quite reluctant to let her watch...

The incident is like this...

"Papa, I wish to watch Snow White"
(I switch on the TV with boring face)

Another while, Ying danced while watched the movie, she imitated the seven dwarfs to whisper when they are marching back home. Then Ying started to modify and inform my wife:
"Ying is Snow White"

I nodded with smile, concluding she is very imaginative.
Another minutes, Ying shouted out:

"Papa is dwarf!"
"What???"

Stunned for 1 minute, I grinned to myself and conclude: "At least Ying knows how to identify gender - luckily I'm not that old witch!"

小顽皮 (1) - 喂奶风波

五个多月的阳已经开始作怪，顽皮兼爱玩。
正逢老婆没空，我必须撑起“重任” - 喂奶。平躺着大腿，左手撑着他的头，用右手喂奶。半途，阳开始用双手把奶瓶推进推出地玩，搞得满嘴满脸都是奶，我惟有用右手几只手指来分开他的注意力，中指控制他的左手，拇指控制他的右手。我得意地笑，终于把你给控制了。

没多久，阳不知哪学来的擒拿术，把我的中指与拇指分两个方向扒开，握奶瓶的食指，无名指与小指差一点握不稳。毕竟在力道方面，我还占优势 - 阳开始反攻。两手开始向奶嘴移下，我还以为他又要把奶瓶拔出，我稳着奶瓶不让他得逞。谁知，他的两手的拇指同时塞进嘴，变成了拇指与奶嘴同时吮吸的现象，我开始呵呵地笑。阳似乎得意地笑（就像上图的笑容），非常地放电。我开始失控地哈哈大笑，阳也呵呵地配合笑。我越叫阳专心喝奶，他就越大声呵呵地笑，还表演单手指与奶嘴同时吮吸。

笑到流泪与腹部接近抽痉时，似乎听到房外的老婆问：“搞什么呀？一个喂奶与一个喝奶，也会发神经地发笑？”

Five months plus Yang starts to act naughty and learn "chicky" way.

While my wife is busy, I take up the mission to feed him milk. Lying relax on my lap, left arm supporting his head, my right hand starts the feed. Halfway, this young fellow started to use his both hands to push in and push out the feeding bottle to play, at the end? his face and lips are full of milk. I used my fingers to distract his attention to play - thumb to control his right palm while middle finger to control his left palm. Yes, I win. Everything is under controlled.

Another while, no idea where Yang learnt up Chin-Na, he knows how to use his hand to separate my thumb and middle finger in opposite direction which cause the feeding bottle almost fall down. In terms of force, I still gain advantage. Yang started his counter-attack, both his hands moved near to his mouth, I applied little force to prevent him from taking the bottle out again. Unexpectedly, he suddenly put his both thumbs into his mouth to suck with the bottle. I started to grin with "hehe" expression, Yang also grin to me (exactly like the photo shown above), just like he gained his advantage on controlling. Then I started to laugh out loud, he immediately align with me with loud laugh. The more I ask him to focus on drinking milk, the more "chicky" way he demo to me - single thumb suck with the feeding bottle!

My tears come out uncontrollably, stomach almost cramp just because of his "chicky" way to entertain. My wife shouted from living room: "What happen to both of you? A feeder and a feeded can be so much fun in the room?"

小管家 (6) - 中招

颖开始学会玩电脑游戏 - 飞机射击比赛，利用滑鼠来操控，显得得心应手。我这个老爸利用键盘来陪玩，操控显得有一点笨，上下左右，只能四方形飞法，满搞笑！

颖兴致大起，用滑鼠的灵活操控，把几个power gun 给抢“吃” 掉，“吃”掉后还说风凉话，
“爸爸，那个power 为什么不吃？”
“... ... ”

我把飞机操控在她的飞机前，终于抢了power gun。
“爸爸，您应该分享嘛”
“... ... ”

“爸爸，那个power gun 来了”，我赶忙连按两个键，以为可以斜飞去抢，谁知电脑“嘟”的一声，飞机停顿了一会，颖把滑鼠一拉，又抢“吃” 掉！
“爸爸，您看您为什么这么慢！” 颖努努嘴。

由于分神在想电脑的“嘟”声，飞机随后“吃”了敌方的炸弹而爆炸。
还来不及反应，颖再挖苦：“爸爸，您中招了！”

Ying picked up plane shooting game. She is keen to use mouse to control smartly. I seem to look clumsy
to use keyboard to control. Up down left right, only fly in retacgular direction, looks terribly funny indeed.

When Ying is in good form to control the airplane, she won't consider her partner to increase the gun
power to share. She "grab" and says

"Papa, why you don't grab that super power gun?"
"... ..."

I adjusted the plane in front of her, yes! finally I grab the super power gun.
"Papa, you should share the benefit with me"
"... ..."

"Papa, I see the power gun," I immediately press two keys to fly diagonal direction, unfortunately
after the computer come out a beep sound, the plane temporarily stopped for 1 second. Ying adjusted her
mouse, she grabbed the power gun again!
"Papa, why you are so slow respond," She teased.

Due to distraction of the beep sound, my plane crashed because of air-grenate.
Not having time to react on this, Ying continues her tease: "Papa, you are hit again!"

Tsunami Survivor 2004

Yup, I'm talking to myself. Hardly mentioned this to everyone I meet, only a few of friends or colleagues knew about my 2004 Tsunami experience. Kinda phobia to stand beside seaside. 5 consecutive years, I still have the phobia. It was unforgettable experience to just wipe away from memory.

Captured in Uluwatu, Bali with bro-in-laws year 2005. The strong wave hit the beach recalled the most horrible experience I gone through.

People said if you speak out the phobia will go away. Let me test this out, phobia phobia go away from my head.

It was 26 Dec 2004 afternoon 1350 at Keracut beach. I was lying on the rock which was about 3-5 meters high from the sea. The sea tide was unusually low than the normal sea level. I could see the leaving mark from rocks. The interesting part was the pond before you reach Keracut beach. It was dried!~ My friends and bro-in-laws were playing with water at the entrance of sea water and pond water. Surprisingly the water came out from pond to sea, very swiftly. It was just like something pull the water out from pond.

"We supposed to expect the boat fetch us back in another 10 mins - at 1400," mumbling my words to wife who just passed me apple to bite.

At 1405, I started to stretch body after lying there to read papers. Then the fishing hobbyists were shouted and pointed to the sea.

"wah lao, look at the wave!!!" The hobbyist shouted and quickly packed their stuffs to get ready to retreat from the rocks.

I started to realize a loud noise from sea. The wave was unusually white across the horizon. Suddenly there was a boat from right side speeding across my sight to left. It was about 200 meters from my sight. The huge noise and white wave never stop approaching me. My bro-in-law suddenly appeared beside me, having camera to record video for this unusual wave and noise.

Idiotically, I told him - this was the most interesting part of the year end event. Never seen this incident before. 4 of us stood side by side (except we didn't realize another 2 friends still stood at beach side) to watch this strong wave coming towards us. Me and bro-in-law dare to stand forward to have better view. White wave mixed with dirty mud continued to march swiftly towards us. Not yet realize the huge disaster may take our lives just like that.

When the white wave hit the right side coastal rock which is about 100 meters from sight, we just realized something went wrong. The moment when we had a flash of thought to escape, the Tsunami wave already almost in front of us. It was just a split of 1.5 seconds! I recalled this vividly because I checked out from wrist watch. Bro-in-law and I retreat very quickly to go higher rock.

Splash! The first hit made us all wet! Shouting at my wife and sis-in-law to climb higher. 2nd hit again impact the rocks even we climbed higher level. I could feel the strong impact of Tsunami wave. My body suddenly shivered uncontrollably to respond. Eyes were searching for direction and bags we left. Went down to the rock and search for our bags. Luckily no more 3rd hit.

When we realized another 2 friends, I started to go mad, shouted their names hysterically. Nevertheless, the loud noise of wave entering the pond covered my uncontrollable high pitch voice. Tears came out directly when we saw them under the tree from bridge.

Conclusion...

The pond saved us all!

Another big boat was parked at the small jetty initially, after the hit, half of the boat hang on the tree. I couldn't imagine the initial boat speeding... what had happened to the that speeding boat? Several questions still in my head - a lot of what and how come. The inevitable inner anxious and phobia still like ghost, haunting for years. Time to let go now!

It was intentional to check out a backdrop stand from my uncle's shop whether available or not. Having DC to accompany, we entered the Rifle Range Flats food court to have morning breakfast. I'm very lucky to hunt down my desired food - Curry Chee Cheong Fun after previous 3 failing attempts. Probably this is called luck.

Along the way to walk - we decided to capture faces again. I love to challenge myself using manual len to capture fast on people life. Doesn't matter whether the person is beautiful or not in physical appearance, the most important thing - I able to capture natural beauty on what people is doing.

Surprisingly 90% of portraits I captured with permission, mostly they allow me to capture. I don't blame why they may raise concern - what is the purpose of shooting their photos. I myself may have the same reaction if I were them. One common reaction from people when I take up my camera - are you a reporter? I have clarified many times on the way I captured. It's kinda fun to communicate and release their defensive stance to face my camera.

Wonderful guy believes to have wonderful days to go on. Optimistic!

79-year-old guy. His wife told me - his 79th birthday just passed, he was born on the 1st of January month. Wow!

Proud stall owner who enjoy in front of camera. The rest of his friends all ran away :-P

3Q MRC Annual Concert 2009

It was last October month for my daughter's annual concert. Every kid has the passion to present beautifully, especially you can sense this vividly. Parents were all around to watch their lovely children to show off at stage.

You can't find seriousness on stage performance. Why? What do you expect 3-year-old kid to present in pro way? :-) The whole performance was fun and full of laughs.

I checked with teacher why suddenly this young lady cried on stage. Due to they played the incorrect song in the beginning, this young lady unable to accept and stunned with crying respond. Teacher need to comfort her to calm down afterward.

女儿颖进入学校已一段时间，开始踏入另一种阶段 - 做什么呢？其实做什么与为什么，相差不远。

半年前，我神气地对老婆说，让孩子发问吧，我正等着呢!

看打斗戏一半...

“爸爸，那个人做什么躺着呢？”
“因为他受伤了”
“那个人做什么流血呢？”
“因为他打架”
“那个人做什么打架呢？”
我不以为意地指两个人物解释：“因为他讨厌这个人。”

与颖看六十年代的动画片－悟空大闹天宫...
一幕... 悟空闯进太上老君的炼丹处

“爸爸，做什么那个老爷（太上老君）没有在？”
“因为他出去了”

悟空从炼丹炉出来...
“爸爸，做什么那个猴子（悟空）被烧变黑，没有死？”

原来我开始有一点招架不住, 招架不住时原来会开始胡言, 不只是抓头!
看来我必须作更多自然科学的温习, 不然会被问到地球为什么会转... 太阳为什么会发光... 这才开始够力!

Weekened Coffee Bean Breakfast

Was truly excited to bring two little monsters - Ying & Yang for the first time to Coffee Bean Breakfast. My son slept through the whole session, luckily he didn't make noise. Ying was enjoying walking around and having her favourite banana muffin.

My son - Yang, not yet two months old enjoying his first outing from home.

Salmon was not that fresh that expected. First try and I may not order this. If the salmon is fresh enough, the taste should be good!

My favourite breakfast - Brek-O-Day. Chicken sausage tastes really good! Omelet is tempting to make you loose your slimming plan :-)

First time tested out my daughter as model to pose. Need little patience to instruct and capture fast. If possible, I try best to make it like a candid shot as possible. After tested on manual len, the outcome is somewhat indeed interesting.

Instructed her to stand under flourocent light, grabbed her favourite toy and shouted out "Ko-ni-ca!". Instructed pose but looked like capture candidly

颖顽皮地拉开嗓门喊，把我从看戏的注意力拉回来，翻过头看，女儿就坐在沙发边看着我神秘地笑。

“爸爸，来坐这边！”
“想做什么？”，我好奇地移着屁股坐去。

“爸爸，坐好好，我跟你梳头发。” 颖神气地拿着梳子做状。
不理会那么多，我继续看戏，头发应该整齐吧。

不一会儿，起身拿了杯水来解渴。
“爸爸，还没好，不要走来走去！~”
一屁股又坐回原位，继续看戏，想梳头发嘛，就让她梳个够！
心里嘀咕地想：我哪有很多头发梳

看没几下，突然感觉头皮疼痛...
“嘿，颖不是梳头吗？”
“不是！梳头后，现在我在跟爸爸剪头发，不要动来动去！~”
一惊之下，我本能地转头看看，是否有剪刀在我头上舞来舞去。
“颖，你拿什么来剪爸爸头发？”
“剪刀！”

我即刻站起来，颖笑咪咪地伸出手掌作剪刀，弄得我哭笑不得！
“不要动来动去！~ 还没有剪完呢！~”
我唯有乖乖地“享受”头部SPA...

It was a bit mad to still stay awake to shoot photos in the crowd of wet market after my 12-hour-night-shift. Was awaken for almost 16 hours without a sleep at all. Accompanied by another two colleagues - PJ & DC to have breakfast at Campbell Street's Toh Soon Cafe. Boosted by Hainanese coffee, I managed to capture some interesting shots on faces.

Haven't had their permission to reveal their physical appearance, thus show off their synchronized actions to give credit to their inspirational idea for this short-while capture :-)

I like the crowd's faces. Purposely retained my 50mm AiS manual focus len to challenge myself on capturing. The result was somewhat satisfying when I waited for my Pok Chang snack order.

颖突然像足长辈训话般地低声说:
"不要讲话了. 睡觉."
我与老婆顿了顿, 以为听错, 然后继续谈.

这回颖开始闹着: "爸爸, 不要讲话了! 睡觉!"
我与老婆好笑地问颖为什么不能谈话, 只谈一下.
哪知道女儿反驳道: "夜了! 关眼睛! 睡觉!"
我与老婆相对而视地吃吃地笑... 却引来颖拉开嗓门喊:"爸爸, 不要讲话了! 睡觉!"

最近，女儿时常挂在嘴边说：
“爸爸，我大大的时候，我可以驾车了。”
“爸爸，我大大的时候，我可以吃冰淇淋。”
“爸爸，我大大的时候，我可以自己去走街。”

在认同的同时，我无法否认心底里的另一种交替的期待：“爸爸，我大大的时候，我可以照顾您了。”

Recently, daughter always have the same statement from her mouth:
"Papa, when I grow up, I can drive car."
"Papa, when I grow up, I can eat ice cream."
"Papa, when I grow up, I can go shopping myself."

While admitted this, undeniably I'm struggling from my deepest heart expectation on her statement: "Papa, when I grow up, I can take care of you."

Well, initially I would like to capture my red rose tree bought two years plus ago and the flowers are still "growing" unexpectedly :-) For guy, plant a rose is far more worth to just buy flowers for your partner. Added another yellow rose which I hardly resist to capture it as well. Now I have a retangular pot to enjoy two different colours of roses.

Also in conjunction with Penang Floral Exhibition, I totally shopped and took away 4 plants in one buy. And two lovely pots are my additional rewards with discounted price.

Red roses which already last for two years plus, my 2006 Christmas gift for my lovely wife.

Light yellow rose added in upon my wife specific request for long time. Hardly find a beautiful light yellow roses

Japanese roses - it is funny to see the flowers will only open whenever there is direct sun ray. Intended to capture a few times but failed - no sun ray :-) Interesting! Dedicate this to my eldest daughter, Ying.

Malapodium - just love to see something striking yellow colour in among green leaves. Dedicated for my son, Yang.

Dracena - checked with seller about this specific name. I have totally no idea plant name at all, still in learning stage. Bought to align with my department's organized green project.

The rest of the captures were from my department's green project plants. With little "studio-type" setup with warm lights, the end result is amazing to me.

Home Cooking - Curry Chicken

Recap few weeks ago on this curry chicken cooking. The cooking process took only about 30 minutes to complete. Of course the preparation may take longer. You can choose to prepare all the ingredients yourself or you choose to buy from wet market.

You can buy this raw material from wet market or you prepare it using blender :-)

You must let the water dry first before putting oil to stir-fry it. Adding the oil will make you suffer from the too-fast-evaporated-water in oil to "splash" on everywhere in the kitchen :-)

I love the curry fragrance that able to make your nose feel terribly itchy. Please don't "ha-chio" in your cooking, hygiene first please.

Different people will have different way to put this coconut milk timing. I only put it when the curry chicken almost done in cooking.

Ying is very sticky to me physically. My pregnant wife unable to carry her, Ying turns her focus on me whenever I'm at home or any sight she can see me. I particularly enjoy to carry this "koala bear" around. She is sweet and adorable. The moment she hugs me, I feel contented and committed.

When I brought her to nursery school, her eyes tell me deeply, she unable to let go me to school. Once in a while, she hugged me hard and refused to let go while I was late to office. Mostly me and wife promised to play with her after school or going for shopping, then she is ok to let go. Crying loud is unavoidable, expected. Recently, she is improving. She can accept to let go but her tears uncontrollably drop. My heart still feeling stabbed whenever see her cry or drop tears like this.

I told my wife - this little girl unable to let us go then I grinned. I can't imagine probably after 20 years, maybe the situation change oppositely. Probably it is ME to drop tear and refuse to let her go. I keep on laughing to myself, mostly the day will come :-) My wife teased me since then.

I started to admit - I'm just an ordinary dad and not smart totally.

Home Cooking - Garlic Rice

Pretty easy to prepare this Garlic Rice. Chopped garlic (normally I will put lots of garlic), olive oil, eggs and a bowl of rice. Talking about rice, it's recommended to have it overnight and put into refrigerator. The rice will appear a bit dry. Whole cooking process took about 15-20 minutes to complete.

Home Cooking - Black Pepper Chicken with sour sauce & Mushroom Soup

My wife collected online recipe and selected the raw material. I done the cooking process. It was a pleasure cooking session at home especially for parents. Last weekend, this was organized to celebrate Mama's day. Parents were happy to become guinea pig for my first try. Nevertheless, the outcome still able to pass the minimum requirement. There is plenty of room to improve, anyway.

Encountered feedback on washing the pan. This is pretty "kacang-putih" (very easy, no challenge). For me, what is really challenging - oil sucking hood. That one definitely made cry. I did experience to disassemble, wash and reassemble for solid 4 hours straight!~

Penang Heritage Wedding Photography

Enrolled last month April 11 for Penang Heritage Wedding Photography. It was a great experience to capture pro models. Great learning experience. The models were superb to cooperate in despite of crowded "paparazzi" (large group of photographers) and I personally salute their professional attitudes in regardless of heavy gown clothes and extreme hot weather :-)

It was very difficult and dangerous to capture this - gang of photographers were standing beside the drain. Behind us is roadside - the traffic was busy.

Sunset Industry - Soya Sauce Factory in Penang

Old Brand

It was the sudden decision to write out and make photo-shooting on this sunset industry - soya sauce factory. It is very difficult to see this in Penang island anymore. All the huge special containers that make soya sauce are very traditional way. No machine, only manual. The factory has 70 years history. All the huge special containers were from China. Soya sauce making process rely on weather condition as well. If sunny day - the soya bean will have "sun-bath", otherwise the workers will cover the soya to avoid raining.

Larger space consumption is needed for this industry. One limitation - land purchase in Penang Island is sky-rocketing now though the market is not doing good. Comparing with mainland, the price has quite big differences.

I'm quite down to see the urbanization conflict.

What I can do is to capture the moment and buy a bottle of top range soya sauce made from here. NO artificial flavour and chemical to make it "tahan" longer. I did little support from my heart. Thanks DC for inspiration on this photography decision. :-)

鸟，是一种会飞的动物（废话！当然会飞！）。基于有鸟鸟的感觉，我发挥了少许的想象力来套用在形容词。

鸟人 - 通常是指讨厌的人；我把它分类 - 好鸟人，能够畅谈肮脏话，说尽无厘头的话题；臭鸟人最阴湿（广东），最讨厌 - 放暗箭，喷毒针，弹毒舌，踩着良心上位。遇着臭鸟人，别只顾喊运气不好，最好准备去庙里用木屐打小人兼吐口水！

解决方案：-
一）沉默是金方式 - 给它看手，不是鸟，别乱来！ - 凸（不懂？麻烦您发挥想象力吧。）

Composition creativity sounds very subjective to everyone personally. It's just like what you look at certain outcome based on your personal preference. Take photography for instance. Some may claim beautiful - some may not; while others may point out what the heck with focusing problem, another group of people may conclude blurred image provided moody session. Some may claim that composition is under-exposed, who knows small group of gang said this under-exposure creativeness draw the unique beauty of object. Who knows a tiny group of people appreciate much on taking photo of all rusty metals, while others may think - these people are nut to shoot on those rubbish.

You see, NOT everyone able to interpret creative composition in same way. I prefer - the term - different way - because there is no right or wrong conclusion. Let's forget about those technical terms - some people concluded how amazingly Picasso's painting done; show your parents Picasso's painting - they may question - what is happening with the composer? All the eyes are not tallied with same level :-) Don't laugh, it is personal preference. Beside paintings - throw Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 to someone - he/she may say within 5 minutes will fall asleep straight. Chopin's music lover will appreciate how beautiful the musical texture it was composed. Same thing goes to mid-age's parents on Metallica's heavy metal, parents hardly understand why teenagers are fond of noisy music. Different frequencies, I conclude :-)

Relax, it's only subjective view - as far as you open your heart and accept the different perspective view, you find creativeness within the search :-)

Limited time - unlimited ideas to spend

Recently was busy hunting around for foods and delivered photos to my clients thus delayed on updating here. Enjoy the fulfilled moment on taking photos, enjoy listening to clients' thought and watching my daughter joining nursery school.

Posted few writings on new blog with limited personal time - normally will do this during off-shift hour. One man show always tiring and I hardly ask my friend to join due to my odd working schedule. Work 4 days, rest 4 days; work 3 days, rest 3 days. 2 weeks on rotating day and night shifts. You can imagine my body bio-clock keep on re-adjusting. The only way is to maintain my workout session to ensure my inner health.

其实孤独并不是一般人所想像中的怪僻习惯，它只是一种没有与别人做直接的交往，在某个特定的时间和空间内，正在享受开放，自在和自悟的心态。犹记得在大学读书时，有一位同学曾经问过我类似的问题：“你不觉得寂寞，时常孤独地一个人用餐？” 当时我真得找不到更好地解释来让这位朋友来明白，直到我读了 Philip Koch 所写的<<孤独>>，才知道我已开始明白孤独的初步意义。

傅佩荣在<<孤独>>释本的中文版序中提到他在读了<<孤独>>之后所得到的三种心得。

首先，孤独使心灵赴于宁静。外在的安静可以带来内心的平静，在平静中可以关照历历往事，明辨成败得失，由此明白人情事理。二是向内考虑自身言行，以求表现通情达理。这两点都是学习与教育的明定目标。至于思想的第三种作用，则是向上提升一求领悟人生意义。

Philip Koch 在他所着的<<孤独>>用哲学的角度来探索孤独这一人生无可逃避的宿命。最引人如胜之处要算是作者广泛的引用了来自希腊以迄今的宗教，哲学，文学大师的观点，在思想上作具有深度和广角的引导。

知识与智慧的分别

Planning to write a food blog regarding to traditional foods quite some while. With the bombarding various kind of restaurant franchises and fast food chain, traditional foods or snacks are facing vast impact on surviving its own stand. I have a small and personal vision - to hunt all these down to introduce, at least we alert and continuing support them.

I'm an "old-biscuit", had good memories on old foods, ranging from Chinese, Nyonya, Malay, Indian and etc.

Examples: -
- Do you know how Cantonese Wantan noodles sell in old times? The seller ride his stall using the spoon to hit the bowl to attract attention on Wantan noodles selling. You don't have to look out from house, you just listen to the "tok-tok-tok" sound.

- Do you know Indian selling those curry puffs and kuih Talam in a big round metal tray using his head to support and sell around? I miss that too.

If you happen to see or try out any traditional local food, please do not hesitate to include your name and location information. I will include your name in my writing after I personally visit there.

For every Chinese in every part of the world, I assume they are pressing how most important to have annual reunion meal together with family members. This should be a tradition to carry on to remind ourselves, our children, grand children and great grand children how good we can enjoy meal together.

I personally enjoy reunion meals very very much with my family and in-law family. Thanks.

Another long hour night shift that made me miss you fervently. You may look for daddy to accompany you to sleep or play with you on wooden brick arrangement every night. It is late now - I'm not too sure whether you would call out my name to say good night or you just "shouted" out as usual to ask me to "oink-oink" (Hokkien dialect - sleep).

Kinda miss you and I only tell myself to look forward for after night shift work.

I always grateful for true friendship appears in my life. These people are simply do not judge based on your academic background, physical appearance, age, position, ranking and wealth. I find similar elements in them - honesty and sincerity.

I unable to expect them to stay in touch for long while, probably due to physical distant, different life status to go on ... but one thing I always wish to whisper out with grateful heart - Thank You for being leaving your footprint. I will remember this friendship.

I'm feeling lazy after settling household stuff. A simple meal to satisfy my hunger - Capers Spagetti with Pesto Sauce. It takes about 5 minutes to complete the preparation :-)

Introduced by my bro-in-law, getting addicted with it after tried out. My wife does not know to eat the sour Capers (looks like green pea or it is actually green pea :-P). The vinegar will make your face turn real sour but trust me - this meal is very refreshing :-)

Feeling hungry huh? Try make yourself one ~ please :-P

It was quite tiring right after working for 12 hours shift and headed to wedding dinner. My wife informed me last minute due to her colleague's urgent request to have an unofficial photographer :-) Anyway, I also wish to show my gratitude to Fong Ling who actually trusted me to take a few shots for her unforgettable moments. Had a good dinner at Forum Restaurant last week. Renovated in more elegant theme.

Conclusion: the dinner was great and delicious!~ Worth to revisit there to have dinner.

Day 4: 黃大仙廟 (Wong Tai Sin Temple) - 鲤鱼门(Lei Yue Mun) - 香港夜景 (Hong Kong Night View)

Location 1: 黃大仙廟 Wong Tai Sin Temple

Always hear about Wong Tai Sin Temple, thus decided to visit there. When we reached there, darn crowded place with tourists...

Location 2: 鲤鱼门(Lei Yue Mun)

This is an interesting suburban area that gives you the fresh air to breathe - less traffic. I love this particular place - just like the fishing village and I can see lots of seafood shops and interesting old building.

Was there during a very hot sunny day - this was the day I got severe sunbath :-)

The direction is clear with this instructional post - you won't feel lost...

Along the exploration inside the village - you can see lots of seafood shops...
We reached there for about noon time - those shop owners just opened up the shop and busy with the kick-start day to setup.

Had a quiet breakfast at local restaurant - the delicious porridge without my gear. After breakfast - we headed to airport earlier. The airport is darn huge, arrived there on time.

Found my favourite Doraemon - bought one for collection and passed the passion to my daughter - this works :-P

Part 2: Peak View - Hong Kong Madame Tussauds - Lan Kwai Fong

It was a long queue when we intended to purchase ticket. There is a separate counter to purchase package ticket for both Peak View & Madame Tussauds, thus this save up our times.

Peak View is famous with night view of Hong Kong Island. Indeed stunning and cool environment. That night was really windy.

Right after I had cleared "water-tank" (nature call) - accidentally saw this and captured :-)

After Peak View - we headed to 蘭桂坊 (Lan Kwai Fong) - famous happening place to walk around.

Quickly snapshot Police - though I know this may be prohibited :-P

Saw this interesting light decor design, thought the shot would be interesting to show it in abstractical way - IMHO.

I'm not alone in photographing this light decor abstract - look at the group of photographers. All having big gears with solid tripod - After that I also joined in to snapshot a few - I can see their reaction - who the heck this guy suddenly came from... Look at them... :-P

On the way back to Mong Kok - once again, the night street is very interesting to capture.
